This year, the theme of Nikon Photo Contest International will be the brand statement, ” At the heart of image” .

The contest has two categories:

1. free category in wich you may submit your work that reflect yout unique perspective and creativity.
2. “My planet” - this category is for images that express your feelings about your world. They may portray the environment, scenes from your daily life, or things and people you feel pasionate about.

The Nikon Photo Contest International is open to all photographers, professional or amateur, from any part of the world.

Entries are accepted from September 1st to November 30th, 2008.
 Entries by conventional mail should arrive at the nearest Entry Collection Point stated in this pamphlet either on or before November 30th, 2008.
 Entries received via the Internet will be accepted until 24:00 November 30th, 2008, Japan time.

Print dimensions: 19 x 24cm (8 x 10 inches) to 28 x 36cm (11 x 14 inches)
Please provide the information listed in the box on the right on the back of each print in block capitals.
One person can submit up to 2 entries for each category (a total of 4 prints). Please fill out the entry form attached to this pamphlet with the photograph(s), then send them by conventional mail to the nearest Entry Collection Point stated later in this pamphlet.

The Corbis Photography Award will reward the best photography works created for advertising and promotion purposes, including print and online advertising, Direct Mailing, packaging and outdoor.

Qualifying entries:

• The competition is open to any agency or individual based in Europe.
• The works must have been created for usage on a territory that includes Europe but is not restricted to.
• Works can be submitted regardless of whether they have been published or not.
• Both entries published and unpublished must have been created or launched in 2006 or 2007.
• One photography represents one entry.
• A maximum of 10 entries per participant can be submitted. Each entry will be judged separately.

Applicants offered a myriad of interpretations based on the contest’s theme “At the heart of the image.” Though their interpretations were unique and varied, we were delighted by the amount of entries strongly invoking inspiration and emotional response. These inspirational entries, reaffirmed the significance of using “At the heart of the image” as the theme of the contest. The Grand Prize was selected with this in mind.

The final stage of the selection process produced two finalists for the Grand Prize, an image of two fishermen (crossing waves) and an image of a dolphin (Breaking the silence). To have the final images for the Grand Prize coincidentally capture the spirit of water, an essential element to life on earth, was a revelation. It is with great pride and honor that I introduce the top prizes chosen for Nikon Photo Contest International 2006-2007.

Enter Digital Camera magazine’s Photographer Of The Year 2007 competition !

Entry to Photographer Of The Year 2007 is free, but you must be a registered member of Digital Camera Magazine’s website before you can enter the competition or vote on any images.

Rules:

The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers of all nationalities who are over 18 years of age and who have access to the internet. Entries must have been taken no more than five years prior to the category submission closing date.

A maximum of five entries per category are permitted. Your photos should not exceed the maximum size of 2MB, in JPEG format.

An image that has won a prize in a national or international competition or that has been used for commercial purposes [i.e. received payment and published] is not eligible for entry.

There is no entry fee associated with the Digital Camera magazine Photographer of the Year 2007. All entrants agree to participate in any publicity in connection with this competition.

You may use image enhancement and manipulation to optimise an entry into the competition, although you are not allowed to add or remove significant elements. To clarify:

• Adjustments to colour, contrast, saturation, levels and curves and sharpening are expected.
• Cropping is allowed, as is stitching to create panoramic images.
• Cloning should be limited to general cleaning work - no significant elements of a composition should be removed or added.
• Dodging and burning is permitted.
• Perspective adjustments to correct for lens distortions are allowed.

Where appropriate, original RAW files may be requested if a photograph reaches the shortlist of photographs selected by the independent panel of judges.
