Nikon Photo Contest International 2006-2007

“Let the world discover your talent.”

Applicants offered a myriad of interpretations based on the contest’s theme “At the heart of the image.” Though their interpretations were unique and varied, we were delighted by the amount of entries strongly invoking inspiration and emotional response. These inspirational entries, reaffirmed the significance of using “At the heart of the image” as the theme of the contest. The Grand Prize was selected with this in mind.

The final stage of the selection process produced two finalists for the Grand Prize, an image of two fishermen (crossing waves) and an image of a dolphin (Breaking the silence). To have the final images for the Grand Prize coincidentally capture the spirit of water, an essential element to life on earth, was a revelation. It is with great pride and honor that I introduce the top prizes chosen for Nikon Photo Contest International 2006-2007.

Mr. Yoshitaka Nakatani, Chief of Judge

TIPA Awards 2007

When TIPA was born in 1991 founder magazines decided they wanted to start a large non profit association: not a lobby of few selected members, nor a marketing tool. So they invited all the European magazines eligible for membership to join. Instantly, TIPA became the largest family of independent European photo & imaging magazines made by the most expert editors. Today, TIPA is 31 magazines strong and represents a readership of approximately 8 million amateurs, professionals and people in the trade spread throughout 12 European countries.

Photo of the Day Contest.

Daily and Monthly Winners

This contest has both daily and monthly winners. Each day, a single photo is displayed on the DailyDigitalPhoto.com site and the Imaging Resource news page as the winning “Photo of the Day.” At the end of each month, overall first, second, and third place winners are selected from among the daily winners for that month.

You may upload a JPEG image of any file size under eight megabytes, although note that winners are displayed at a size of only 800 pixels in the largest dimension. The image may be edited, enhanced and modified as you see fit. Panoramic images, either wide or tall unfortunately don’t fit the limitations of the contest format very well, so there’s no point in submitting such photos.

While there is no restriction on content, we do not display images that are not in good taste.

By submitting your work, you assert you own the copyright of the image and give The Imaging Resource the right to display it in this contest should it be judged a winner. You are responsible to have any human subject’s permission to submit the photo; The Imaging Resource cannot be held liable in the event that an individual did not give their approval for their likeness to appear on the site.

Daily winners receive not just 15 minutes, but a 24 full hours of fame, as the literally thousands of visitors to the Imaging Resource and DailyDigitalPhoto sites see their images and are astonished by their photographic vision and creativity. The three monthly winners receive not only additional notoriety, but also prizes furnished by companies in exchange for the promotional value of having their names and products displayed to our readers.
