27 februariy 2007, Sony is introducing two new cameras: DSC-H9 and DSC-H7. The new advanced sports shooting mode at this cameras made me very interested, especially at this price( 480$ H9 and 400$ H7). What does this advanced sport shooting mode? It combines high shutter speed shooting and intelligent continuous auto-focusing. The cameras can very quickly focus on fast moving objects by predicting the future position of the object in the frame. This way, the time thta camera nedds to focus and shoot is reduced.

Both cameras have Carl ZeissÂź 15x optical zoom lenses for up-close shots of big plays on the field. Sony’s new face detection technology can identify up to eight faces in the cameraâs LCD frame, and automatically adjust white balance and flash as well as focus and exposure for correctly exposed, sharp photos.
The shooting speed is up to 1/4000 of a second, again very helpful when shooting sports events. The H9 and H7 cameras incorporate Super Steady ShotÂź optical image stabilization in order to reduce the blur caused by camera shake, very good for shooting with slow shutter at maximum zoom.
The sensitivity goes up to ISO3200.

The H9 camera takes fast-action shooting a step further. It sports a 3-inch, flip-up LCD screen so that you can shoot comfortably from nearly any position. You can hold the camera low to the ground for eye-level shots of kids, without having to contort yourself or crawl on the ground, or hold it high for shots of the crowd. The H7 camera has a non-articulating but large 2.5-inch LCD screen for easy sharing and viewing.
The H9 camera is the only Cyber-shot model in this yearâs line to feature NightShotÂź technology. This feature allows you to take photographs in environments with virtually no light so you wonât miss the action, even at a late night game.

Both Sony cameras available from april.

A few posts before I was talking about Photomapia a place where you can see or share your photographs taken in your trip.
Now I am telling you about a very interesting little device for recording the position where photographs are taken.
It’s name is Sony GPS-CS1 GPS Unit kit.
GPS stand for Global Positioning System.
The GPS-CS1 is a small (9 cm / 3.5 in) cylindrical device which you simply attach to a backback or belt loop and carry with you while you shoot, it records your GPS location and this information can later be synchronized with your digital images to provide a map of where your photos were taken.

The compact GPS-CS1 weighs just 55g. Its power-efficient design allows up to 10 hours continuous use with a single alkaline cell (14 hours with Ni-MH battery). The unit can hold approximately one month of tracking data (in use for 12 hours/day).

The DPP-FP70 and DPP-FP90 PictureStationâą photo printers can print 4×6-inch pictures in more than a minute, exactly 45 seconds from a memory stick. Very small and very fast you can carry them anywhere and do the job quickly.
You can preview and edit the pictures witn these printers with the built-in displays and enhanced editing features so the quality of digital images can be maximize. DPP-FP90 has a 3.6-inch LCD built-in screen, while DPP-FP70 has a 2.5-inch built-in screen. On both photo printers you can correct tcommon problems like red-eye, exposure and focus before you print . With the Auto Touch-up button on the unit, either printer can correct the exposure of a face if it is over- or under-exposed without affecting the exposure of the background. This same button also gives users the ability to sharpen out-of-focus images by creating several simulations of camera lens movement, checking the contrast of each simulation and then selecting the best simulated image to improve the original photo for printing.
You can personalize the photos with the new the superimpose mode intorduced by Sony. THis the superimpose mode put a special message on the photo, like “Happy birtday” or “My ex-wife naked”. With the cursor buttons on the prints help you place message anywhere on the picture.
The filter feature on both new printers offers six options for modifying digital photos before printing. The cross filter can make the lights in a photo more dramatic, while the partial color filter lets you highlight the subject of a photo in full color and remove color in other areas of the print. The paint filter adjusts the image to appear as if were printed on canvas and the monochrome and sepia filters let you create a more artistic black and white image from a color photo. The fish-eye filter lets you add a new perspective to a portrait or landscape picture.
The cost of one print is 29 cents. Sony offer a few high-quality paper like the SVM-F40, F80P and F120 print packs which contains 4 x 6 high quality papers with snap off edges and SuperCoat lamination in quantities of 40, 80 and 120 sheets, respectively.
Available from March, the DPP-FP90 and DPP-FP70 printers will cost about $200 and $150, respectively. The SVM- F40P, -F80P and the F120P print packs are available for $20, $30 and $35, respectively.
